Ian Mandeno, a professional speaker, with international experience, an Accredited Speaking Member of National Speakers Association of New Zealand. Many people suffer from nervousness in front of an audience, yet fail to realise that, that fear permeates through most aspects of their lives. Whether it be meeting a stranger, being unable to deal with confrontation, making that sales call, making that sales presentation.

Through meeting so many people fearful of either speaking in an audience of many or one -  Inex Seminars developed the "Speech and Communication" series. This eight week course of two hours per week, will help you with self-esteem, selfworth, and overcoming the very fears that prevent many of us from achieving our full potential.

During the eight weeks you will give a minimum of four presentations, ranging in length from 5 minutes to 30 minutes.  A series of workshops are included and cover subjects such as:

• putting a presentation together using a simple six step plan
• body gestures
• evaluating presentations
• introductions
• thanking presenters
• meeting procedure
• how to save meeting time
• using humour in presentations
• voice control

Here's what The Professional Speaker Series consists of …

Nine evening meetings held once a month

Held from 7pm to 10pm in Inex's Takapuna seminar rooms, these meetings are run by Inex Seminars directors Ian Mandeno and Pam Long. They give participants the opportunity to present a minimum of seven specialty speeches including …
An interpretive reading An inspirational speech A motivational speech
An entertaining speech A keynote speech A speech to inform
A speech to educate and An after dinner speech

Each participant will also be required to run one of the nine evening meetings to become experienced at managing meetings and events. This will include preparation, delegating duties to other participants and assuming the role of chairperson.

Four half-day workshops

These workshops will be held on four Saturdays throughout the course.

Independent public speaking engagements

Each participant is required to make two speeches at public events. Ian Mandeno will give guidance on companies and organisations to approach, but ultimately all participants must secure their own speaking engagements as part of the course requirements.

Graduation Night

Each participant will present an after-dinner speech on Graduation Night which will be a dinner meeting at a formal venue with outside guests invited. Graduation Night is the last of the nine evening seminars. The cost of the dinner for participants and their spouse or partner is included in the course fee.

Presenters

Ian Mandeno, Inex Seminars director
A professional public speaker, Ian was the first person to be named an Accredited Speaking Member of the National Speakers Association of New Zealand. He perfected his skills over 17 years as a member of Toastmasters International and has developed many workshops to share his knowledge of presentation, public speaking and effective communication. His seminars have been presented to groups of all sizes including staff and management of large national and international corporates. Ian's seminar topics have included Motivation Through Planning, Speech and Communication, Eating Elephants for Profit and many others. He is passionate about passing knowledge on to those wanting to improve their communication skills.

Greg Ward
An actor, singer and entertainer with experience in television, theatre, musicals, opera and improvisation, Greg trains corporate organisations and has designed and presented motivation seminars. He is a member of the acclaimed Improv Bandits, a founding member of the NZ Comedy Guild Inc. and Vice-President of the NZ Improv Society Inc.

Tania Clifton-Smith
Tania is a specialist physiotherapist and the co- founder of Breathing Works, the first breathing disorder clinic of its kind in New Zealand.

Christine Fromont
A qualified trainer in colour and style analysis, Christine has a diploma in Fashion and Design. For the past 10 years, she has managed her own business helping individuals and corporates with personal presentation, image and colour.

Course Requirements …

• The Professional Speaker Series is open to graduates of Inex Seminars' eight-week Speech and Presentation Series, which was formerly known as The Speech and Communication Series.
• Participants must attend all Saturday workshops and at least seven of the evening seminars, including Graduation Night.
• Inex Seminars reserves the right to decline any applicant who does not meet the minimum entry requirements.

Deposit of $200 with the $1750 balance to be paid at
the first workshop

Payment in three installments
Deposit of $200 with three further payments of $600
made in the first 3 months

Nine installments
Deposit of $200 with nine $220 monthly payments made
by automatic payment throughout the course or by pre-dated cheques given to Inex at the commencement of the series.
